Ballet, salsa, clogging, hip hop, the polka at a wedding, the sway of someone waiting for a bus with earbuds in. International Dance Day takes in all of it. Line dances, contra dances and swing nights often teach a short lesson at the beginning, so newcomers can learn the basic steps before the music starts in earnest. Partners usually rotate, which means you learn from many people at once.
And if your style is mostly enthusiasm, the floor has room for that too. Plenty of dancers began as the person in the back row getting the turn wrong.
