A day for paper planners and the habit of writing plans down, from weekly spreads to daily lists, stickers and favorite pens.

National Planner Day falls on Sunday, August 1, 2027. That is 278 days away.
A planner is a book for the days ahead. It holds appointments, lists and plans, usually laid out by day, week or month, so the future fits on a page you can flip through.
Some people keep theirs strictly practical, with times, tasks and a checkbox beside each. Others treat a planner as a small creative project, adding colored pens, washi tape, stickers and hand lettering until a Tuesday looks like a scrapbook page. Both approaches count. The planner does not mind.
Layouts vary more than you might expect. Vertical weekly spreads split the day into columns, horizontal ones give each day a band across the page, and a day-per-page format leaves room for notes and long lists. Undated planners let you skip a week without staring at blank pages, which some people find a kindness.
Marking the day usually means sitting down with a planner and actually using it: reviewing the week, setting up the next month, or finally filling in the yearly overview at the front. Planner fans often share photos of their spreads, swap layout ideas, or trade stickers with friends.
If you have never kept one, any notebook will do. Draw seven boxes, label them, and write one thing in each. Pencil works well for plans that tend to move.
